Success

Perhaps the most honest appraisal of a teacher’s success is measured in the self-confidence they instill within each of their students. This confidence is emboldened as a supportive bridge of rapport, advancing inspiration and discovery. Individual students then believe more fully in their own abilities to problem solve, which in turn ensures that the curriculum resonates with a wider, more sustaining arc.

“I signed up for stats in order to better interpret data. I also enjoy learning highly practicable skills. My experience in stats with Mrs. Hood has been enjoyable and rewarding. The course load is very manageable and engaging. Because this course is dual credit it is a great opportunity to get a head start on college credits. I recommend this course.” -Henry

“I signed up for this class because I thought it would be interesting to learn about how people use statistics in real life, and how I could use them. My experience so far has been a relaxed class which is interesting to learn in. Mrs. Hood does a great job of making intriguing and engaging examples for class based on whatever unit we are in.” –Sam

“Adam mentioned that you were leaving Kamiakin after this year, and I wanted to take a moment to tell what he won’t. Adam’s least favorite class, for as long as he’s been in school, has been math. He often had big struggles. Until this year. He has told us, very much to our surprise, that his favorite class this year is math and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Hood. I want to thank you for teaching Adam that math isn’t horrible and that he can be successful in that subject. He has a newfound confidence. I hope he can carry that confidence with him into next year instead of the usual anxiety that he has at the beginning of each new math class. You have made a big difference in his approach to the subject and I wanted to thank you. Best of luck in your new adventure!” – Kim (Adam’s mother)
